On April 26th the website of the German office of the Répertoire International d’Iconographie Musicale moves to a new web address and is henceforth accessible at ridim.musiconn.de. Previously, the website has been updated. This affects not only the layout of the website, but also its presentation with responsive web design. The search application “Datenbank zu Musik und Tanz in der Kunst” facilitates research with functionalities such as search with truncated terms und watch list.
With the relaunch, the entire data stock with approx.. 20,900 descriptions of music and dance in art and approx. 4,100 images, was imported into the search application again, including corrections and additions. Links to object descriptions in digital collections of museums and libraries expand the range of object images.
New to the RIdIM-collection are music iconographic representations from the following museums of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden:
- Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister (RIdIM-Siglum: DDskgam)
- Galerie Neue Meister (RIdIM-Siglum: DDskgnm)
- Skulpturensammlung (RIdIM-Siglum: DDsks)
Please note: The RIdIM-siglum for the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister has been extended and reads as follows: DDskgam. In this way, the search for objects of an individual collection of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen is facilitated. The numbering of the records is kept. Whereever possible, object descriptions were provided with a link to the online collection of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen.
